How to view your recent downloads and change the download location
in Mozilla Firefox, posted Oct 26th 2011
To view your most recent downloads, simply click on the Firefox menu button and then "Downloads, or if you're using the menu bar click on the "Tools" menu and then "Downloads"; alternatively, press the "Ctrl" and "J" keys simultaneously.

From this new dialog, you can clear your download history with the "Clear List" button, open files (with double click), or remove files from the download list. You can also search your downloaded files with the search box located at the bottom of the Downloads dialog.

By default, your downloads go to your desktop. This is certainly not a desirable location for your files if you do a lot of downloading, so you’ll likely want to change the location for downloaded files. To change this location, click on the Firefox menu button and then "Options, or in the "Tools" menu if you're using the menu bar, then select "Options".

In the "General" tab of the "Options" dialog in the new window that appears, under the "Downloads" section, click the "Browse" next to the "Save files to" option; select a download folder in the file dialog that appears, and then click on the "OK" button at the bottom of the dialog to save the changes.
